Feel that? The crisp spring air kissing your skin, the scent of fresh earth, the spring bulbs pushing through the ground, the unmistakable hum of life beginning again. April is here, and it’s time to awaken…

I love the energy of coming alive and the cool kiss that Spring brings. The sun rising earlier with a stronger warmth. The whisper of fresh air swirling around you, and the birds chirping at five am in a symphony that teases your senses awake. These are moments of renewed life as it begins to hum with new energy. This is the season of becoming once more.

With Winter’s slumber behind us. The heaviness, the shedding, the quiet undoing—it has all made space for something fresh, something electric, something alive to take root in you. April arrives with an invitation: Come alive again with nature.

Growing up, spring cleaning was always a thing in my family. The saying, “Cleanliness is next to Godliness,” was repeated in word and action—one my messy, creative self prominently rebelled against! But over time, I realized the deeper truth hidden within those words.

It’s not about tidiness for the sake of being 'clean' or 'order' —it’s about energy. Sweeping away the clutter, the dust, the remnants of what was, opens up space for what is waiting to arrive. When we clear our environment, we also clear our inner world, allowing fresh energy to move through us freely. And when we begin each month with an intentional ritual—one that feels just as good as a clean, clutter-free space—we shift our entire state of being. We feel lighter. More spacious. More open. More alive.

A Ritual to Welcome the New Energy On the first of every month, I perform a sacred practice—a simple yet powerful ritual to cleanse, refresh, and open the way for new blessings to flow. This month, as we step into April, I invite you to join me in this act of pure intention to welcome your blessings.

The Front Door Cleansing Ritual

Your front door is more than just an entryway—it is a sacred threshold between your personal sanctuary and the outside world. It serves as the portal through which energy flows, the space where you both invite in new experiences and set boundaries for protection. In the wisdom of Feng Shui, the front door is known as the mouth of chi, the place where energy enters your home. Likewise, in magic and energetic practices, it holds the power to either retain stagnation or invite in fresh, abundant energy.

This ritual, performed on the first day of each month, signals both release and renewal. By cleansing your front door with sacred herbs and oils, you are wiping away the remnants of the past month, dissolving stagnation, and setting the stage for clarity, abundance, and new opportunities to flow into your life.

What You’ll Need:

• A bowl of warm water infused with one or more of the following dried or fresh steeped herbs and essential oils:

  • Rosemary – for clarity and protection

  • Mint – to invite fresh energy and inspiration

  • Cinnamon – for abundance and success

  • Lavender – for peace and harmony

  • Cloves – for protection and drawing in wealth

  • Orange Peel or Oil – to welcome joy and prosperity

  • Lemon – to purify and refresh

• A soft cloth or small broom to wash the door

• Your voice, infused with intention

How to Perform the Ritual:

1. Mix your herbs and oils into the warm water, choosing all of them, or which you'd like to focus on, and stir each one into the water with love and purpose.

2. As you wash the door, visualize all stagnant energy dissolving, making way for clear, open pathways.

3. Speak your intention or spell you've crafted aloud or in your heart. You can use these words if they feel aligned for you: I cleanse this threshold of all that has been. I welcome in light, abundance, clarity, and new blessings. May this door be a passage of only love, joy, prosperity and opportunity.

4. When finished, stand before your door, breathe deeply, and feel the shift. You are ready to step into this new month fully opened and fully awakened to receive and to engage the new life.
